Important: This document contains information for the group of server updates (or dist) occurring January 09, 2012 through January 11, 2012 in all datacenters. Until that time, all of the information included in this document is subject to change.
The following updates affect popular or important services and programs:
The following updates will be made to the Linux VPS/MPS platform.
Important services to be restarted:
The following services will be restarted by Verio as part of the update:
No Action Needed
The following Linux VPS/MPS updates do not require action by customers to take advantage of the full benefits of the update. Some services may be rebooted as part of the update.
Note: Verio has renewed these certificates with GeoTrust. In July 2010 Geotrust updated its root hierarchy to 2048bit RSA Keys. Some older browsers (versions over several years ago) may have issues with natively supporting Geotrust's new root hierarchy. It is recommended that these users update their browser to a more current version. However, customers may also optionally install an intermediate certificate on their VPS/MPS product to allow these certificates to work for older browsers using the following four steps:
- Edit /www/conf/httpd.conf
Add a SSLCACertificateFile line i.e, SSLCACertificateFile /usr/share/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt under the SSL Virtual Host Context, i.e., under the tag.- Obtain the Secondary Intermediate CA under the ‘All Other Web Server's’ section in the following link:
https://knowledge.geotrust.com/support/knowledge-base/index?page=content&id=AR1423- Ensure the directory path exists and put the cert in /usr/share/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt.
- Restart Apache: service httpd restart
