This announcement is about the most recent upgrade and enhancement of WHM and cPanel for both Advanced Linux MPS/VPS with WHM/cPanel platforms and the Alpine Hosting platform. We are highlighting a few of the new features and enhancements here. More detailed information can be found by following the links at the end of this announcement.
cPanel & WHM version 11.40 includes Dovecot 2.2, which offers better time management, improved IMAP, IDLE connections, and Automatic Trash Expungement.
With auto deletion of trash, server administrators can cut down on emails relaying service status.
Website owners can expect a longer battery life on mobile devices when checking emails using IMAP and saved disk space.
With the improved integration of Mailman in cPanel & WHM version 11.40, you no longer need to know the Mailman list admin password to administer the list. A cPanel user can manage the list through the Mailing Lists interface in cPanel.
List administration can also be delegated to an email user. This email user can manage the list through their Webmail interface. Also, cPanel has an updated API call that will show the list owner and whether the list is private.
Website owners no longer need to remember mailing list passwords and server administrators no longer need to reset mailing list passwords. In addition, website owners can delegate mailing lists to other users.

In supporting modern web development standards, a Website Editor is available in cPanel & WHM release 11.40. It provides cPanel users with a way to easily edit HTML documents from File Manager. Sometimes called a WYSIWYG editor, this tool includes powerful editing functions.

The improvements to MySQL and PostgreSQL are general improvements that involve an almost complete overhaul of their respective systems. The improvements to the userdata handling will provide system administrators and website owners a faster, more reliable system. The Improved Scalability for a large number of HTTP vHosts will help the DNS setup for servers that host many domains. The improved cpanellogd system will reduce overhead for these systems. Also, the email system has been improved to speed up email delivery to local addresses, outbound mail, and emails to Mailman lists.
