Dear Valued Customer,

The Bash Bug, also known as Shellshock, affected computers running Unix, Linux and Mac OS, by potentially allowing a remote hacker to take control and run malicious programs. AlpineWeb responded immediately, working to identify and patch all UNIX and Linux servers. At present, the patching is completed. However, server vendors may continue to release updated Bash patches, addressing additional attack vectors. As your Web Host, we’re managing this process and there are no actions that you need to take against the Bash bug.

As new vulnerabilities surface across the Internet, AlpineWeb will respond promptly to protect our infrastructure and your critical applications. AlpineWeb has an Announcement page in our Customer Backroom with an associated RSS Feed to ensure our customers are kept apprised of our response to industry security issues or widespread outages, as they occur.
